SuperBookDeals is proud to be a sponsor of the upcoming event put on by the Howard County Library System, “An Evening in the Stacks: Sparkle & Spurs.” The annual event is held at the Miller Branch Library to raise money for its literacy programs, such as A+ Partners in Education and Project Library. A+ Partners in Education helps promote early childhood literacy to all children in Howard County. Through the program, children are provided with library cards and encouraged to speak with their dedicated library liaison about furthering their literary education. This could be as simple as checking out a book or as personal as becoming a mentor for these students. Project Library focuses its efforts on helping adults who live or work in Howard County, but do not have a high school diploma, achieve a basic education. Organizers for “An Evening in the Stacks” rely upon donations, ticket sales, sponsorships, and silent auction items to raise funds for these causes. During the black tie event, attendees enjoy live entertainment, fine foods, and local celebrity bartenders while they dance the night away in the stacks. This year’s theme is Sparkle & Spurs, an ode to the Dave Chappell & the Lone Stardusters band.
